INJAZ students shadow ESKADENIA employees

In the one-day Job Shadowing Programme, ESKADENIA received three 10th-grade students from Jordanian public schools to “shadow” three business professionals at ESKADENIA premises. The goal of the programme is to allow students to experience a real-career day and help them decide on their future career preferences.

Through their visit to ESKADENIA, students learned about relevance of schoolwork to their future career life, necessary workplace skills, teamwork, connection between learning and earning, and a general overview about a number of IT professions. Each student was able to interview his/her ESKADENIA host, and from the day’s observations prepare a report on the staff, facilities, technologies and benefits within ESKADENIA.

The programme demonstrated to students how education can be translated into a rewarding and financially secure future. Students also became more academically motivated after job shadowing because they were better able to grasp the connection between school and careers. The experience also introduced students to the requirements of different professions from those who know best - working professionals.

We are very pleased to take part in such a constructive programme. The students we received have been matched in advance with senior professionals at ESKADENIA according to the preferences of the students. The three shadowed ESKADENIA professionals are experts in Web design, Microsoft.Net technology, and the Wireless Software industry”, commented Salam Fakhoury, Human Resources Manager-Recruitment & Training.

About INJAZ

INJAZ was announced as a Jordanian non-profit organisation by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah in 2001 after being launched by Save the Children in 1999 with funds from the USAID.

INJAZ provides unique courses that focus on entrepreneurship, leadership, problem solving, and social skills. Professional volunteers from both the private and public sectors conduct these courses, where the dynamic interaction between students and classroom volunteers, who have practical business experience, promotes active learning and brings theory to life.

A main pillar at INJAZ, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah II, has shown great interest and support since the inception of the programme. Her continuous and abundant support took many shapes; she volunteered to conduct some courses, participated in the student discussions and debates, and launched the INJAZ initiatives. Throughout the years, Her Majesty has been a partner that INJAZ is honoured to have.
